High School English

    • Reading comprehension: Reading comprehension allows the student to analyze and synthesize main ideas and themes, identify common organizational patterns and writing styles while increasing their vocabulary.


    • Writing: In high school the student expands their knowledge of the writing process through writing essays and term papers. At first they begin to accrue their familiarity of formal and informal forms of written execution. This helps them as they work through the writing process, from pre-writing to final drafts.

    • Literature: Through the use of classical and modern literature the student is able to interpret , delineate, and recognize themes, plots, characters, and literary elements. This allows the student to engage in scholarly discussions on interpretations of different texts.
